Pegasus Mail Add-on ProgramsThe programs listed on this page have been written by Stephen Knight and are all freeware (i.e. I retain the copyright but you are free to use or pass on the programs as long as you do not profit from doing so). If you find the programs useful then send me an email using the "Contact Us" button above, the previous email address listed here has (not surprisingly) been hijacked by spammers over the years and is no longer monitored. We offer consultancy services, ongoing contract work and support contracts, normally in the UK, and mainly in the fields of Microsoft Support (eg MS Office, Exchange, Windows 2000 / XP / 2003, Small Business Server 2000 etc.), and Lotus Notes (development, consultancy, and administration). Please Contact us if we can of any assistance. The programs were written around 1997 and therefore may not function with current versions of programs - in particular Netscape changed file formats after Version 3 and is in part no longer compatible with this software, however, they all appear to function with the current versions of Pegasus Mail. Mail system converter is a 16 bit program an as such handles standard DOS format (8.3) filenames. A 32 bit version with updates will be released when I have the time to complete it. The latest version of Pegasus Mail can be downloaded from here. Click here for any current items I have for sale on

Visited DIGESTERFilter program to use with Pegasus which converts List Server Digests in the old pre-MIME format into a true MIME Digest message which can be read in Pegasus Mail's built in Digest reader. An advantage of this method over setting your listserv subscription to MIME format is that you can reply to either the list, sender or both using the normal reply buttons (you can only reply to the sender using the normal listserv MIME digests) as well. Updated to v2.40 September 2001 to include Yahoo Groups emails which use two lines of underscores between messages and additional spaces before message headers. v2.42 allowed it to work with quoted printable versions of Yahoo Groups emails which have a blank line between the two header lines. v2.70 recompiled to deal with new format Yahoo Groups email as long as the emails are switched to the 'traditional' format. Version : Currently at 2.70 June 2006. (Previous
version 2.42, 4-September 2001, previous
versions: 2.40, September 2001 & 2.30, June 97. How to get it : digester_270.exe digester_242.zip or digester_240.zip
or digester_230.zip SENDFILEFilter program which turns Pegasus into an email file server responding to commands like those used by FTP servers such as DIR, LS, GET filename, HELP, INFO etc. It is fully configurable and will make a whole directory structure that you specify available by email without you needing to maintain a list of files available (i.e. putting a file in the chosen directory is sufficient to make it available). There are options for the user to select the encoding method (UUENCODE, BASE64, BINHEX) and the owner can specify that all commands are logged, whether to ask for receipts for sent messages, add a header, signature etc. All this is configured from a simple INI file. Works best with Windows 95 or later when handling multiple messages as Windows 3.1 can't cope with many windows open at once. Full Word / Text manual included. Version : 1.0.10 (16 Mar 97) How to get it : Source code: sendfile.bas EXTRACTFilter program to append message to file without smtp headers etc. for creating old style digests or archiving messages. Only From, To, Date CC, and Subject headers (and then only the first line) are extracted. Usage : EXTRACT <file to append to.> <mail message file> e.g. : EXTRACT c:\archive.txt C:\temp\$wpp3434.tmp Pegasus can be setup to extract a whole folder automatically using a general mail filtering rule set. Setup a rule which runs for every message (e.g. search for From:* in the headers of the message) and get it to Run A Program. Enter filename as EXTRACT C:\archive.txt etc. Works best with Windows 95 when handling multiple messages as Windows 3.1 can't cope with many windows open at once. How to get it : PEGADRBKSmall DOS program that converts a Comma Separated file of address details (as produced by program ADRCSV or exported from Excel etc.) into various address book formats, including Eudora, Eudora Light, Eudora Pro, Pegasus, Pegasus PMImport, Spry Airmail, Onnet Mail, NOV*IX Mail, Unipalm Mail-It, an HTML table, Netscape. Version : Currently at 1.1, Oct '96. MAIL SYSTEM CONVERTERWindows based conversion program to convert folders and address books between the following mail programs. This is a 16 bit program and has not yet been updated to handle long filenames etc. to convert folder names correctly. When it was written Pegasus Mail allowed you to specify the filename of folders and defaulted this to the same as the first half of the folder name. Now this is generally FOLDxxxx which doesn't convert well. Paolo Holzl of http://www.holzl.it/ has got around to writing a utility to do the renaming of converted folders before I've got around to fixing Mailconv (I haven't tried this utility personally). A 32 bit version of MailConv with support for Outlook and Lotus Notes etc. will happen at some point, hopefully this year (2005). FOLDERS
ADDRESS BOOKS
Version : 1.2.00 Documentation / manual partially written. Can be retrieved from here.

You will see the addresses import into the program. At this point you can import further address books too, just repeat steps 5 and 6 To convert from Eudora or Netscape to Pegasus Mail, reverse the procedure:
MAKESENTVery simple program which steps through a Pegasus folder and adds the
X-cs: header to each message which tells Pegasus it is a copy to self. Once you
have converted a Sent Mail folder from another package with Mail System Converter or another program the Sent messages will normally show up as
From yourself as opposed to showing the To: line you used. Once the folder has been converted Pegasus will show the messages as it does it's own
Copy to Self messages. How to get it : Source code: makesent.bas |
